“A settled enclave of single-family homes set within the historic Hobson pocket of central Naperville near the West Branch of the DuPage River.”
Kimball Mill is an established single-family neighborhood in central Naperville, north of Hobson Road in the wooded pocket that traces its name to Bailey Hobson, recognized as the first permanent settler of DuPage County. He arrived along the West Branch of the DuPage River around 1830 and built one of the region's first grist mills, and that heritage still marks the area through Hobson Road and the preserved mill site at Pioneer Park.
The neighborhood took shape in the late 1980s, single-family homes set on consistent lots and framed by the mature trees and established landscaping that have filled in over the decades since. As one of the later additions to the Hobson area, Kimball Mill carries the settled character of a neighborhood that filled in years ago and has held that established feel ever since.
Kimball Mill sits close to the river corridor, with Pioneer Park and the DuPage River trails near at hand, while downtown Naperville, the Riverwalk, and the BNSF Metra station are a short drive away. The I-88 corporate corridor keeps regional access within easy reach, giving residents an established neighborhood setting with full connection across the western suburbs.
