Ashwood Creek is one of the newer communities on Naperville's far southern edge, set in the Will County portion of the city near the Wheatland corridor. It is part of the Ashwood group of neighborhoods that brought contemporary construction to the last stretch of developable land at the city's boundary.

Many of the homes are two-story designs with open layouts built across a concentrated era of south Naperville development. Planned and built within a compact era, the community has consistent streetscapes and open space woven between the homes.

Ashwood Creek sits close to the Route 59 retail corridor and the prairie and forest preserve network at Naperville's southern edge, placing it within the broader fabric of Chicago's western suburbs.
